The new special album by the German thrash metal legends celebrating 40 years of band history.
With their new album *The Death Squad Chronicles*, DARKNESS open a powerful chapter in their band‘s history. For the band’s 40th anniversary, the album combines the raw energy of the early years with a powerful, modern sound - and brings the untamed spirit of the eighties directly into the present.
The songs date from before 2015 - the year of the reunion - and have now been completely re-recorded. The original character has been retained, but the sound, precision and production take the material to a new level. *The Death Squad Chronicles* is both a retrospective and a statement: a tribute to the band‘s roots and proof that true thrash metal is timeless.
On board for the first time is guitarist Dominik, who lends the songs fresh impetus and razor-sharp riffs. The album was once again produced together with Cornelius ‘Corny’ Rambadt, who perfectly captures the sound between old school and modern.
As a special highlight, the album contains two brand new songs - uncompromising eighties thrash, written and recorded in the here and now. DARKNESS impressively demonstrate that their story is far from over.
